Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy

A. PRIVACY POLICY

Bendiks Boege (hereinafter, “the Service Provider”, “We”, “Us” and the like) is firmly committed to regulatory compliance and the privacy and protection of personal data. Accordingly, in the present Privacy Policy (hereinafter, “this Policy”), the User (hereinafter “the User”, “you”, “your”) of AI Cleanup (hereinafter, “the App”) will find all the relevant information to better understand what We do with their personal data. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not access and use our App.

We may update this Policy according to new legislative or jurisprudential requirements and/or business needs. Any updates or modifications of this Privacy Policy will be considered applicable from the moment of their publication on the App. Therefore, the User is recommended to review this Policy regularly.

1. Who is the personal data controller?

2. What data do We collect and how do we process it?

For the purposes of this Policy, “personal data” refers to all data that identifies you or that could be used to identify you.

2.1. Local Processing (On-Device) Crucial Note: To protect your privacy, our App is designed to process your sensitive media files (photos, videos, contacts) locally on your device. We do not upload your photos or videos to our servers for analysis. The categorization (blur detection, duplicate finding, AI analysis) happens directly on your smartphone using on-device technology (e.g., Apple CoreML).

2.2. Data we may access (with your permission):

Media Library: Access to your camera roll to identify duplicates, screenshots, and blurred photos. This data remains on your device.

Email Access: If you use the email cleaning feature, you grant the App permission to access your email metadata (headers) and content via IMAP or API connections directly between your device and your email provider. We do not store your emails on our servers.

Device Information: Technical data such as device model, OS version, language, and time zone. This is used for app functionality and debugging (Crashlytics).

Usage Data: Information about how you use the App (e.g., screens visited, buttons clicked). This is collected anonymously to improve the user experience.

Purchase History: Information regarding your subscription status (via RevenueCat/Apple/Google). We do not have access to your credit card details.

3. What do We use your personal data for?

We use your data for the following purposes:

To provide the core functionality: Cleaning storage, organizing photos, videos, contacts, and emails.

To manage your subscription and grant access to Premium features.

To respond to your support requests.

To comply with legal obligations.

To detect and prevent fraud.

To analyze anonymous usage trends to improve the App’s performance.

4. Google API Services Usage Disclosure

If you choose to connect your Gmail account using Google APIs, our use of that information will be subject to the following additional restrictions:

Limited Use: We will only use access to read or manage Gmail message headers, metadata, and email content to enable the App’s features (delete, move, unsubscribe).

No Third-Party Sharing: We will not transfer this Gmail data to others unless necessary to provide and improve these features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

No Advertising: We will not use this Gmail data for serving advertisements.

No Human Access: We will not allow humans to read this data unless we have your affirmative agreement for specific messages, doing so is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or for the App’s internal operations and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized.

The App’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. How long do We keep your personal data for?

Media/Emails: Since this data is processed locally on your device or accessed directly from your provider, we do not retain it on our servers. Once you delete the App, this local access is revoked.

Subscription Data: Retained as long as required by tax laws (usually 10 years in Germany) or for the duration of your subscription.

Usage Data: Anonymized data is retained as long as necessary for statistical analysis.

6. Who do We share the User’s personal data with?

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with the following service providers to operate the App:

Apple & Google: For app distribution and payment processing.

RevenueCat: To manage subscription statuses and receipts.

Firebase (Google): For analytics and crash reporting (anonymized).

Legal Authorities: If required by law (e.g., court order).

International Transfers: Some of these providers are located in the USA. We ensure that data transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses (SCC) or data privacy frameworks deemed adequate by the EU.

7. How do We protect your personal data?

We prioritize security by design. By processing your sensitive data locally on your device, we minimize the risk of data breaches. For data that is transmitted (e.g., to verify a subscription or connect to your email provider), we use standard encryption protocols (TLS/SSL).

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and CCPA, you have the right to:

Access: Request information about the personal data we hold about you.

Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.

Deletion: Request deletion of your data (e.g., by deleting the App or contacting support).

Restriction: Restrict the processing of your data.

Portability: Receive your data in a structured format.

Objection: Object to the processing of your data.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 14 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information.

B. COOKIE POLICY & TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES The App uses “Cookies” and similar tracking technologies (like Mobile Device Identifiers/IDFA) to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.

What technologies do we use?

Strictly Necessary: Essential for the App to function (e.g., RevenueCat for verifying your premium subscription). These cannot be switched off.

Analytical/Performance: Allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our App (e.g., Firebase Analytics). These are aggregated and anonymous.

Advertising (if applicable): If you use the free version of the App, we may use identifiers (like Google AdMob) to show non-personalized or personalized ads, depending on your consent settings.

Managing Preferences: You can control tracking in your device settings:

iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking.

Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads.
